Hailed by The Baltimore Sun as “magnificent”, Jiacheng Li received the following recognization after his American début in 2023: “Notes cascaded from the pianist Jiacheng Li’s fingers like individual drops of water. Then the drops formed a river that rushed ahead, gaining momentum without somehow sacrificing transparency. Then, in one final headlong downward dash, the stream became a waterfall.

When he was ten years old, Jiacheng was chosen by Lang Lang to perform with the superstar pianist for his 30th birthday concert in Berlin, Germany. That night, Jiacheng also shared the stage with Herbie Hancock and conductor Jaja Ling. Since then, Jiacheng has made appearances at many music festivals internationally, including the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival (2019), Berkshire at High Peaks Festival (2022), and the Gijón International Piano Festival (2025). In 2026, Jiacheng was invited by the the World Bank to perform at their global headquarter in Washington D.C.

In 2017, China’s Sohu Music interviewed Jiacheng in an exclusive article and called him “a rising young pianist”. Jiacheng came to the United States in 2018 to study at University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) High School. Upon his graduation, Jiacheng was nominated to be the High School Commencement Speaker for the UNCSA School of Music. From 2020 to 2024, Jiacheng was the exclusive recipient of Jill E. McGovern and Steven Muller Scholarship at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University.

Jiacheng has received guidances from renowned pedagogues such as Yoheved Kaplinsky, Vladimir Ovchinnikov, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, and Robert McDonald. Previously, Jiacheng has studied with Huaiyu Feng from the China Conservatory of Music; with Dmitri Shteinberg at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts; with Alexander Shtarkman at The Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. In 2026, Jiacheng earned his Master of Music degree with Ann Schein and Hieyon Choi at Peabody.
